On 12 June 2011, the Post Office of Moldova (Poșta Moldovei) issued a postage stamp with the title 70th Anniversary of the First Wave of Mass, Forced Deportations from Bessarabia. The issue comprises one stamp, with an associated cancellation (postmark) and first day cover (FDC). The designer was Vitaliu Pogolşa. The printing was performed by Tipografia Centrală, Chişinău. |

On June 12–13, 1941, 29,839 members of families of 'counter-revolutionaries and nationalists' from the Moldavian SSR, and from the Chernivtsi and Izmail oblasts of the Ukrainian SSR were deported to Kazakhstan, the Komi ASSR, the Krasnoyarsk Krai, and the Omsk and Novosibirsk oblasts. Read more.. |
