Water Wells

INTRODUCTION

On 19 February 2008, the Post Office of Moldova (Poșta Moldovei) issued a series of postage stamps with the title Water Wells. The issue comprises four stamps, with associated cancellation (postmark) and first day cover (FDC). The designer was Vitaliu Pogolşa. The printing was performed by Tipografia Centrală, Chişinău.

ABOUT THE THEME

A water well is an excavation or structure created in the ground by digging, driving, boring, or drilling to access groundwater in underground aquifers. The well water is drawn by a pump, or using containers, such as buckets, that are raised mechanically or by hand. Read more..
